We have recently re-rescued two SCARE horses who are in need of medical treatment as well as 24/7 special needs attention. The bills are adding up quickly and SCARE just doesn't have the money to cover all of these expenses, on top of the ongoing expenses of all of the unplaceable horses in our care.. We need your support. Donate today by following this link. Donations Needed

UPDATE: 2/8 - Savanna is foundered from lack of farrier care - they both have some of the most severe thrush we have ever seen to the point their frogs have just rotted away - going to have to have long-term extensive farrier care - they both are in need of routine dental and lots of senior feed, beet pulp and alfalfa cubes.
SCARE developed the RED ALERT system as a way of letting members know there is an immediate need for help. Help may be needed with transportation of a rescue from deplorable conditions. There may be a need for a place to temporarily house a rescued equine. Donations may be needed for emergency medical treatment. What ever the need is, when a RED ALERT is issued the need is immediate and in your hands.
The idea of using RED as the color of the alert system is in memory of Red, a horse that was part of a rescue situation in Darlington. When SCARE was called in to help rescue Red and others in Darlington a RED ALERT was issued for cash donations. The response was tremendous by Members and other caring people. Because of Red's severe condition he didn't make it. however, the others who were with Red, due to the prompt response, are now in foster care with SCARE Members, being treated by Vets for severe parasite infections, dental issues and are getting the proper nutrition they need.
